Service Evaluation Studies 2011, Part 2 (Route W4): Purpose of the Study (en Español)

The purpose of this evaluation was to identify the strategic needs for program and facilities; review capacity, productivity, reliability, and quality of service indicators; and recommend changes that will improve service delivery for Metrobus route W4. WMATA, in cooperation with its jurisdictional partners, reviewed the W4 to improve service efficiency and coverage. This involved examining the overall performance with the aim of improving service reliability, frequency, crowding, travel time, bus stop amenities, and customer communications.

The evaluation of the Metrobus W4 Route is now complete, and five documents have been added to this web page -- see below. A set of recommendations for improvements has been drafted and included in the Final Report, which will be sent to the WMATA Board for approval in 2012. Pending availability of funding, the first phase of improvements to the W4 route would take place in late 2012 or early 2013.
