Review of Metrobus Transit Service Guidelines (en español)
Metro has completed 17 out of 24 Priority Corridor Network studies and implemented a variety of improvement recommendations. Each study has revealed new and sometimes-complex issues impacting the effective and efficient provision of Metrobus service in the region. As Metro plans to improve the quality of bus service in the future, a guiding document — applicable over the geographical extent of the WMATA service area — is required to help direct staff activities.
Project Background / Purpose
The purpose of this study is to develop a document that provides a level of consistent guidance for WMATA staff to improve Metrobus service. These guidelines will include, but are not limited, to the following issues: service planning, facilities, vehicle types, communications, amenities, traffic circulation, safety and security, and fare collection.
Additional details on the study will be posted on this page as the study progresses.
